Shopify Payments

Shopify Payments on hold. We write the letter from their email.

Not eligible, payout frozen, identity review, prohibited products — Shopify’s Payments email is the spec. We quote it, describe what the shop actually sells, list the documents you uploaded, and ask them to review eligibility. You send it. Shopify decides. We do not turn Payments back on from our side, because we cannot.

Honest limit. Some products are not eligible for Shopify Payments no matter how well the letter is written. We will say that in intake if the shop is clearly on the prohibited list. We will not rewrite your catalog into a fake product line to pass review.

What the letter contains

  1. Issue as Shopify stated it: not eligible, disabled, payout hold, documents requested.
  2. Shop facts: legal name, store URL, product, fulfillment, countries you sell to, processor country.
  3. Root cause that matches the email: identity, business type, chargebacks, product category, URL mismatch.
  4. Documents already provided: ID, articles, bank, invoices, shipping labels.
  5. Review request. You remain the merchant of record.

How you submit

The reply path in the Shopify Payments email, or Shopify Support from the admin that owns the shop. We do not log into the store. We do not impersonate Shopify.

If Stripe or PayPal is the actual processor behind a hold, say so — we have separate letters for those, and the wrong letter wastes the attempt.

Languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish.

Will this make my shop eligible for Shopify Payments?

No promise. We draft the letter. Shopify decides eligibility. Some categories stay ineligible.

My whole Shopify store was shut down, not just Payments.

That is a different notice. Paste it. If it is a ToS shutdown of the shop, we may still draft; if they want us to open a replacement shop to dodge a ban, we refuse.

Do you need collaborator access?

No. You paste the email. You submit the letter.

Is this legal advice?

No. Document drafting. Nick Schäfer / Nick’s Advisory, Frankfurt.
